Up-Skilling Opportunities for Shoalhaven Businesses in Online Marketing

September will see the Shoalhaven’s business community energised by an opportunity to participate in FREE E-business strategy and digital marketing training. This training will be provided by experts in the IT and marketing industry, CleverLink!

Small and home-based businesses in the Shoalhaven will have the same opportunity as the Illawarra and Southern Highlands to undertake this training. To date, the training has provided much needed advice and knowledge for small businesses in those regions.

“It’s amazing! In three short hours it became clear to me where I need to be heading with my website and the areas that require work. I can now formulate an action plan, know where to go to get more information when I need it and I have an understanding of the resources that are available to me – I have a recipe for success!”

said Kellie Granger from Norman Street Natural Health Centre.

“After the first course, I utilized some of the information and dramatically increased the traffic flow to my website. These courses are all about providing the small business owner with tangible tips and information, and practical online solutions,”

said Robert Kennedy from Robrock Productions.

How 1 book turns into 10: A story to inspire anyone who loves to read and write!

News Release for IMMEDIATE RELEASE 10 May 2010

How 1 book turns into 10: A story to inspire anyone who loves to read and write!

The old saying, ‘a drop of ink makes millions think’ really rings true! A book can inspire one person or it can have an impact on millions.  This is part of the reason why Camtu Pham, a self-published author of ‘Aim High, Fly Fast: How to Create a Wonderful World for Yourself and Others decided to contribute and assist others to get published.

This week, CleverLink launched our tenth author’s book, ‘The Secrets on the Inside: Inspiring the Young Adult Spirit by Kellie Granger which is a motivational self-help guide for teenagers.  “When I read Kellie’s manuscript, it confirmed to me that helping self-publishing authors is an important role.

It’s one that I cherish and I am very excited that our expertise has proven to be such a useful resource for other authors,” said Camtu. “I came to Australia without speaking a word of English, having my own book published has helped me to achieve my childhood dream – I did not foresee at the time that I would help to create another 10 books and I am very pleased with the result.” Added Camtu

All the10 books began with one story... Camtu first met her colleague Rachel Flannery back in 2003 when Rachel enrolled in a course designed and hosted by Camtu as part of The UniCentre student leadership program at Wollongong University.

Rachel was a Creative Arts student who graduated with a distinction in Writing.

Rachel assisted in the production of ‘Aim High Fly Fast’ by conducting various types of research for Camtu’s book which was published and launched in 2004 by Minister David Campbell (now in its third language and recently launched in the USA).  At the time, Camtu and Rachel had no idea they were about to set in motion what would become a successful book production service, helping authors from all different walks of life see their work published.

CleverLink has helped new authors from square one, re-designed and produced existing books as well designed covers for overseas publishers including a New York publishing company.

The most notable author so far to have their work published through CleverLink has been the AFI award winning Australian film maker, Chris Kennedy.  Kennedy’s work ‘Made In Australia’ is the ninth work published through CleverLink;

“There is quite a bit of detail involved in producing a book, from pre-production to printing.  If your book doesn’t have a barcode, for example, even libraries won’t be able to stock it.  We make sure every aspect is covered,” adds Rachel.

The CleverLink Book Production Service includes everything an author needs to turn their manuscript into a ’shelf-ready’ book.  And once the book has been produced, CleverLink can also help to set up a web site so authors can sell Online if they choose.

The book production team, headed by Camtu and Rachel with assistance from Kath Walsh and Mary-Ellen Bland, form a formidable team who help authors turn their manuscript into a ‘shelf-ready’ book.
